EP Students Won in Thai Debate Competition

On Friday, 21st January 2011, Assumption College set up a debating competition for upper level students at the 125th Assumption College Academic Day, 2010. The English Program sent our intelligent students to join this competition. In addition to this, Ms Wannasiri Phonpramoon facilitated as an advisory teacher for this particular subject.  Mr Yossapol Kriangyutthipoom from EP-M5/1, Mr Jiraphat Suwidejkosol and Mr Taechin Udomsin from EP-M5/2 debated amazingly against Assumption Suksa School. Their creative motions were as follows:
Round 1 Assumption College VS Assumption Suksa School
Subject: Being an academically excellent student is superior to being a student that is excellent at activities
Round 2 Saint Joseph Convent School VS Assumption Convent
Subject: Drought is more severe than flooding.
Round 3 Assumption College VS Saint Joseph Convent School
Subject: Watching Thai series is more beneficial than watching Korean series
After the final result was announced, Assumption College was awarded first place. Second place was awarded to Saint Joseph Convent School.
We, the English program, always believes that our students possess a number of intelligences. This can be counted as another great experience that they rarely find elsewhere.  At Assumption College these experiences are actively encouraged. This debating competition also provided self-development opportunities for our students, for example, debating skills, public speaking skills and inter-school socialization. Congratulations to you all!
